Knotty Creek Retreat

We loved the place. First day there we did s'mores and we saw so many fireflies. Drinking coffee by the creek every morning, seeing the ducks, deers, and bunnies. My girls were in that creek exploring almost every afternoon. The neighbors next door were very friendly. The location is about 20min from town. We didn't mind the drive. Blue Ridge Lake was AMAZING! make sure you guys try the Mountain Butcher, we bought meat for cookouts. Black bear antiques is great for shopping. Make sure you visit Elijay for fun stores and restaurants.I recommend this place. Thank you so much for having us. We have so many videos and memories with our three girls.

We loved this cozy cabin! Inside, it had everything you could need. Outside was equally amazing. The hot tub was great, the fire pit was wonderful and the creek running by was so soothing to listen to. The only thing that was a tiny bit unhandy was the fact that the bedrooms were upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs. We are planning a return trip soon!!

We celebrated my husband’s graduation here! We enjoyed the fire-pit, hot tub, and listening to the calming sounds of the creek. The cabin is gorgeous and the views are even better. We caught our limit of trout right down the road too! We’re definitely planning on coming back!

This was a beautiful and relaxing place. It was close to several small towns that we ventured out to. We enjoyed our stay for our 25th wedding anniversary. The creek was our favorite place to hang out along with the fire pit/screened room nearby. The kitchen was well stocked and ready to cook. We enjoyed the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, the General Ledger, and Chester Brunnenmeyer's Bar and Grill in Blue Ridge. You also need to visit the House Of Applejay Distillery in Ellijay; it was a lot of fun! Overall, this was a great trip and hope to visit again one day.

Very comfortable and felt right at home. The cabin was great and very homey. Loved the river. If I had to say one thing that was amiss that was not having a bathroom on the same floor as the bedroom.

We love this place. It is our second time here and will come back again and again. We actually are here this time for our honeymoon. We have to mention Ducky the dog. He is the sweetest. He is always the first to greet us. The neighbors are great also. We can’t wait until next time.

This is by far the best cabin we’ve stayed at! We enjoyed morning coffees down by the creek and ended our days soaking in the hot tub. We also made friends with the local puppies who joined us every time we went outside. The cabin itself was gorgeous, we loved how comfy the reclining chairs were! The cabin is very comfortable with a very efficient kitchen for all cooking needs big or small. The sound of the creek in the back yard is a very nice relaxing sound while on the porch or sitting by the creek. Everything was very pleasant and the next door neighbors are both very friendly but you still have your own space and privacy to enjoy your stay.

This cabin was great for my husband and I’s anniversary trip! Close to downtown Blue Ridge but also very private and peaceful. It would have been nice if there was some better seating on the back deck to enjoy the outdoors a little more, but overall our stay was great! The sound of the river, fire flies everywhere at night, and seeing lots of deer was very relaxing and romantic.

This cabin definitely held up to its standards. My husband and I had the best time. We enjoyed having devotion down by the dock & drinking coffee. The cabin was clean all around and had plenty of towels, ect. The hot tub was very enjoyable and clean. (the water had a greenish tint to it, but I'm pretty sure it's well water). overall I say 10/10 recommend. Especially for couples. I definitely see ourselves staying here again in the near future.

This was the perfect place for our families moutain getaway.

I LUV this place so much! It was the exact location you look for in a cabin getaway. The neighbors were so hospitable, helpful, and just a great place to get-away. We left the master bedroom door open on the deck, and you will just fall comfortably and safely asleep listening to the stream out back. Day or night. I made a new friend in a pup named Duckey. He's a neighborhood pup that lives just over the hill. He was the welcoming committee for us and he gelled-in like family. What a cute dude. What a great time. If you are considering this place, don't hesitate. You will get a serenity that you didn't know you wanted.

I could not have loved it more! The owner had it decorated for Christmas, which was perfect. I met the neighbor and neighbors dogs. Love them, so sweet! I can not wait to stay there again. We normally like to stay somewhere different every time but I think this place changed that. The outdoor deck and hot tub was perfect as well.

My husband and I enjoyed staying in this cabin very much!!! The only issue was neither of us had a phone signal for iPhone & Android (for talking). We both had full wifi signal for the internet, but only my iPhone was able to send & receive texts at the cabin. My husband's Android wouldn't send & receive texts until we were quite a bit away. However, we would definitely would stay here again!!!

We took a family road trip for the first time to the Blue Ridge Mountains, and I had a hard time deciding between a mountain view or a cabin on a creek. I am so happy with our decision to stay by the creek, the yard is huge and allowed our kids to run around, and the dock on the creek was perfect for morning coffee and afternoon reading. The house was perfectly cleaned, and had everything we needed. The neighbors are permanent residents, and were so sweet and helpful. The only down fall was a very hazardous drive way. We have a lifted truck, and had a hard time getting up the steep, washed out, dirt drive every time. When we tried to get closer to the side to miss the huge holes we scratched our truck on the branches. It was a disaster, and I do not believe a regular sedan would be able to handle it. On a positive note, the super helpful neighbor said the road will be paved Aug 8-10, and after that it should be perfect! But definitely a heads up for anyone traveling to the cabin before. Other than that the cabin is wonderful!

This place was exactly what my husband and I were looking for during our trip! It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. Being able to see and hear the creek made it a very relaxing stay. The cabin was amazing!

The cabin is in the perfect spot, just intimate enough for my husband & I. We had loads of fun at the creek and we’re able to catch horn heads, bluegill, and a pretty large trout. We spent time in Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Both of which were very accessible to our locationz

This place is absolutely beautiful and peaceful! Sitting by the water drinking coffee is the best way to start your day and at night you can relax in the hot tub. But if it rains you'll need 4 wheel drive to get out of the driveway.

We had a wonderful stay here. We spent tons of time outside at the fire pit. The weather was beautiful and the interior is exactly as pictures. The neighbors were very friendly as well. Loved our time away.

Right on river, cute cabin… you may need a pick up truck to access but I noticed some SUV’s on property. You will notice other cabins around but everyone real nice.

The location, cabin and scenery were just what we were looking for to relax! The neighbors puppies were an added bonus and the sweetest!

Property was great-only problem was the driveway, it is very steep my Durango had a time at first getting out we slid back down had to back into the neighbors driveway a bit to make it up hill and the rain and potholes doesn’t make it better.The driveway is in a curve so you have to be careful coming out overall this place is great for peace and quiet listening to the creek.Oh even though you are not allowed to have pets the strays or neighbors dogs are always there I would assume they are the neighbors because one has a collar, but if I had to stay here again I definitely would

We stayed there for a girls trip and it was so cute and cozy! The cabin was even decorated for Christmas.

This was a very nice little cabin. It was in a good location and we really enjoyed the stream in the backyard and the fire pit. If we are ever in the area, would not hesitate to stay here again.

Loved cabin .could use curtains or blinds on lower level and screening from neighbor at hot tub area..Recommend going to Swan Drive in. WE were not successful catching a trout. Had fun trying...Recommend driving around and letting the mountain views remove stress of the Pandemic and life..left relaxed..

It is a beautiful cabin appropriately decorated perfectly. Everything was provided that we needed for 4 days. We are technically challenged and couldn't figure out how to work the "smart" TV. We called the property manager, and she was able to talk us through the process. The stove is also smart. After awhile, we figured that out too. The property description was accurate. There are other cabins fairly close to the Knotty Creek, but luckily they were not rented, so we had peace and quiet. This was good for the time that we spent in the hot tub. How wonderful that was! Very relaxing, and you could even hear the flow of the creek while in the hot tub. Pretty cool. I only have 2 minor complaints. The only bathroom is downstairs, while the bedrooms are upstairs. The only time this was inconvenient was is in the middle of the night. It's a bit scary going up and down stairs when you are barely awake. The other concern was with the water. We only drank bottled water because the water had a slight odor to it. like I said, these were very minor complaints. We were about 15 miles away from downtown Blue Ridge. We enjoyed eating in the restaurants down there and window shopping in all the quaint shops. We would recommend this cabin and this property management to anyone who wants to have a great time away in a log cabin.

We couldn’t get service on our phones, but because of that we were able to enjoy our stay without interruption. Home Away didn’t give us instructions or directions to where the office is to sign liability waiver or collect key code, but the people in the office were extremely nice and Holly took care of us and gave us the code through text and let us sign the waiver later during office hours. All in all, I’d come back here, it was a beautiful stay and I’d love to come here again.

Read some reviews complaining about various things - we thought the cabin was lovely - modern and wonderfully located. The shower is a little low but no problem at all, the living space was really nice and spacious, bedrooms were all good, outside space was great. Slightly bumpy steep driveway but fine in our car (SUV). One thing - We checked in late (8pm), & were told to pick up an envelope from the agency out of hours box. The cabin rental property door is a code. It seemed entirely unnecessary for us to drive all the way to the letting firm's office to pick up a piece of paper with the code on it - that could have been emailed to us. Something to consider in the future perhaps :)

Let me say, the cabin itself is exactly as the pictures show. It was perfectly clean, very spacious and cozy, and full of amenities. The kitchen was full of utensils, cookware, appliances and pretty much anything you would ever need. There were plenty of towels that were useful for both bathing and use of the hot tub. There were a ton of blankets available, which was nice for the winter time. My one critique would be the AC/heat situation. The cabin is equipped with two wall-mounted AC/heat units (one upstairs and one downstairs. The management company asks when you depart to keep the thermostat at 60 degrees in the winter and 72 degrees in the summer. This is totally understandable as they want to save energy when the cabin is unoccupied. Saying that, when we arrived at 10:30 at night, the outside temperature was in the low 30's, therefore the cabin was extremely cold inside. Being that this entire cabin is cooled/heated from two smaller units, it took awhile for the cabin to warm up. Having said that, by the next morning, the cabin was nice and warm and remained that way for the duration of our stay. Overall, our experience was absolutely perfect. I would definitely recommend to a friend and hope to stay here again.

We drove a good size truck but still had trouble going up the very steep road, especially after it rained. The road has deep pot holes which added to the difficulty. I would highly recommend this rental but only if you have 4 wheel drive

Reviewer Comments: This is the second year in a row we have used A Blue Ridge Vacation to rent a cabin in the scenic and tranquil Blue Ridge Mountains. Thet are accommodating and the rentals are clean, all for less than you would pay to stay in a hotel. If you need a quiet getaway with the family or alone, I highly recommend this company.

Communication is 10/10 with hosts. Properly is as described with large back yard, great fire pit, sitting by the creek is nice to listen to, and we only used one bed but it was SO comfortable! Close enough to everything but also a great cabin in the mountains. We only had one issue so as advice: check the hot tub on your first day. We waited to the day before we were to depart (we didn’t have time and we had opened it at night to see if it was warm and had noted it had a strong sulfur smell but thought it was just the water or chemicals maybe). When we opened it during the day it was dark yellow/brown water. We immediately notified the host with a photo. We were told since it wasn’t the first day, we’d have to pay another cleaning fee for them to clean it. We opted not and was quite disappointed to not be able to properly use the hot tub when we did not know it would be gross water. So take my advice and check it day one! :)Other than that, would stay again, it’s a great place with deer and bunnies running around.

Beautiful location, really nice cabin and the creek added to the charm! We had a very pleasant stay at this property and it delivered the peace and quiet we were looking for. Kitchen was great! Hot tub was really fun and the kids enjoyed it! There were minor inconveniences that can be improved like hand soaps were empty, we had to carry our own body wash, shampoo etc., outdoor string lights weren’t working, main bedroom’s ceiling leaked during the rainy night (although not on our bed). Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay here!

Beautiful cabin inside! Loved how the owner has made it so cozy feeling. We were not able to stay in it as all the beds are upstairs. The description says 1 bedroom with a loft. So we took it to mean the main bedroom was on the main level and additional beds were up in the loft. The only bathroom is on the main level, so that meant going up and down stairs in the middle of the night. Because I can not comfortably go upstairs because of my hip and knee, staying in this unit was not an option for us. Please change the description so others understand that all beds are upstairs and there’s no bathroom upstairs. Thank you for being so understanding and relocating us to a cabin that has main floor bedroom and bathroom.

Cabin is cool and has great bones. The neighbors are super close so not much privacy. The heat downstairs doesn't work well so it was chilly. The upstairs bed room was filled with Japanese beatles. If the heat and beatle issues are fixed, it's a cool place. Very well appointed with everything you need for sure.

Great place for a getaway! Home was clean and great location. Hosts were quick to respond and would definitely come back.
