The Water’s Edge

We loved everything about this cabin! it was simple, had everything we needed and close enough to town for us to venture out. It's a quiet relaxing location and the sound of nature and the wildlife was unbelievable. The deer would come into the yard everyday looking for anything to eat. Our son loved catching fireflies close to dark. We will definitely be making another trip to this cabin as this is one of our favorite places. We had an amazing and great time!

Location and area around the house

From the moment we walked into Water’s Edge, the immediate sense of relaxation and peace was just what we were looking for. Great location..we came for the Blue Ridge Christmas lights and wound up loving the charming town of McCayesville! We will be back in the spring for fishing and to relax to the sounds of the river !! Jenny and the entire crew were wonderful hosts. This was our first Air B&B experience …and it certainly won’t be our last!

We loved being right on the river and having access to fishing. The beds were comfortable, and the fireplace was cozy. Peaceful surroundings with plenty of space for our family getaway.

The cabin is nice has 3 separate rooms, the game room is at the bottom and has different games. We could not figure out how to set the darts. Would recommend to drive at least an awd because the cabin has a gravel path as well as the driveway going down hill so be carful when going up and down the road. Close drive to town as well as a short drive to blue ridge.

This was a truly restful stay and the weather was beautiful. The sound of the creek and comfort of the cabin was wonderful.

Beautiful clean cabin. Great location way off the main road. Drive way is a little tricky and its not as much fun to fish if you cant keep them but its a great place to stay. The river is so beautiful. Pool table was fun to have

The house was great. My family enjoyed the river and the game room. Sitting on the porch was nice and peaceful. The driveway is pretty steep and there's not a lot of room for a full size truck to turn around in the driveway... I'll also mention that its down a long narrow dirt road. It didn't bother us but worth noting. We only met another car once but had to back up a bit to find a place to pull over. We had great time.

This place is awesome. My family had a wonderful time. I highly recommend. I will definitely come again.

The place was awesome. Even with two babies, we still had a blast. The stairs were the only thing I wasn’t too sure about- but it’s a cabin, which you’d expect. Everyone had their own space + more! The water and the porches were so peaceful.

Everything was perfect. Very clean. Love the welcome bag that was on the table. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

We love the place. It’s was very cozy, fire pit near the river was awesome. The kids enjoy roasting marshmallows.

This “Water Edge Cabin” is the great place to come and just relax! If you like fishing it is good vacation spot and lots of enjoyable activities and moments! Thank you!

Weekend trip with my Son and his girlfriend and my Daughter and their two young ones, Location was great , we could hear the rushing water from the cabin if you had the doors open, Very scenic, very nice fire pit with sort of a lighted Gazebo, Stream was everything we hoped for , Cabin was very nice, set up well . We'll very likely book this cabin again in the future !

The place was very clean and peaceful. It rained all weekend so we couldn’t enjoy the fire pit and the river as much as we wanted to but we liked it there and would definitely recommend.

We read all the reviews before booking therefore there no surprises. We really enjoyed the cabin and sitting by the firepit at night enjoying the no kid vacation. Beds were comfortable, the water got hot fast, theres also a neighborhood dog that came up when we arrived she was super sweet. As i said overall definitely a place id stay again. Make sure when booking to read the reviews and the emails so you know what to expect.

Beautiful property and something for people of all ages. Kids enjoyed the creek, yard, fire pit, pool table and foosball. First time in Mccaysville and super cool town!

We stayed for a week at the cabin and had a great time. The views were great! It was close enough to town just in case you need something small. We loved how the owner of the cabin provided corn to throw out for the wildlife. We saw a lot of deer on our vacation! The drive was very nice but if you don’t have a AWD or 4WD vehicle it may be tough to get up the driveway it’s very steep! Our only other concern was with us staying for a week, there were no dressers in any of the rooms so we had to live out of our suitcases. Otherwise everything was great! We would highly recommend this cabin!

Enjoyed the peaceful setting and sound of the river. Encountered some wildlife, including a black bear that was startled by our presence and ran away. This cabin is definitely away from city life, but close enough to stores and restaurants if needed. Very nice place to relax.

Fabulous stay at the Waters Edge cabin. So peaceful and serene listening to the flowing of the river each day and being able to feed the deer. The cabin is exactly as described. Loved every minute of it.

We had a great stay. The property is well maintained as is the house. We enjoyed our stay!

This place was everything and more and the ideal spot if you want to get away from it all. Waking up and having a cup of coffee on the upper deck while listening to the creek and nature first thing in the morning was just what we needed. We even had daily visits from Lilly (the resident dog) while we sat around the campfire. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

We were looking to “unplug” and enjoy some hiking and quiet time. The Watersedge delivered on all fronts.

We love it and watching the deer

This property was amazing. There was a big back yard with firepit and hammock. The dock overlooking the river was great to sit and spend time. My kids (6 and 7) had a great time playing on the rivers edge. The lower and upper porches were great to sit and watch the kids play in the back yard. Inside the cabin we enjoyed the pool table as well as three spacious bedrooms. The DVD collection was a great bonus. The property manager was great to deal with and responded to messages very quick. I would highly reccomend this location.

I have been in so many places. But definitely this is the best. Clean, beautiful, Amazing. Perfect for any family. Communication with property manager Beth is the best ever.

Had plenty of room for everyone, great place for get together with family and friends. Enjoy the outdoors and the creek in the backyard for tubing. Neighbors very friendly and helpful.

The house was clean, necessities were provided (towels, soap, etc.).The driveway wasn't too steep, the gravel did make it hard to get in and out.

All in all we were pleased with the cabin. The yard was huge . The deer were an extra surprise. The creek was beautiful our kids loved it. The only drawback was the driveway. The loose large rocks and gravel made it impossible to use. We had to park at the top in a space. You will definitely have to have a four wheel drive. We loved our stay at the cabin though. We got great exercise walking up and down the steep driveway.

The stay was overall good. The non-paved portion of the drive to the house is doable with a 2 wheel drive but much more comfortable with 4 wheel drive, especially if you’re going out and back a lot. We did have 2 separate plumbing issues, 1 immediately upon arrival and the other was the next day and with 6 people, it did take some organizing but they did send someone out and get the issue taken care of. The door in the half bath scrapes the floor and is hard to open/close so keep that in mind when determining who gets what room. We also had to coordinate trash pick up since for some reason the trash folks weren’t following their regular schedule that week. Overall the communication with the rental company was timely but it’s not the most fun dealing with logistics while on vacation.The game room was a big hit with lots of games and so was the fire pit/outdoor area. There are a good amount of parks and activities within 30 minute drive and even more if you drive out an hour.

Just a few things why it's not a 5 star for us. No towel bars or hooks to hang towels after shower. The pillows were not great and our necks hurt. Kitchen items and drawers dirty. I'm glad we were given dish detergent, otherwise we would have had to go out to buy. I received a late email of items that should be provided, but to be aware to bring my own, since there was a possibility I wouldn't have any. And so, being so late, I to wasn't able to prepare well. However, great location and loved the creek/river. So peaceful, my family enjoyed good family time. We want to go back and be prepared. Also, take laundry detergent, too. Machines but no detergent. I just would have wanted an earlier email of details to go prepared. Thank you.

Cabin is on the water, large back yard. Great beds. Only complaints are no tv in the living room, only in bedrooms. Thermostat once set to 68 kept changing back to 72. It's a 3 bedroom cabin with parking for 2 small cars. No dishwasher, had to hand-wash. Staircase one story up to get to the main floor.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Water’s edge. The river and fire pit were the highlight of the property. It was a nice house but a strange layout. My goal with 2 couples was 2 king bedrooms. The upstairs king had a half bath and the upstairs with the full bath had a queen bed. We made it work by using the full bath and king bed. The downstairs king room had no closet. Just a rod in the utility room to hang clothes. Be aware that there is not a dishwasher. That wasn’t a problem for us. There is only seating for 4 in the eat in kitchen. The back deck had 4 rocking chairs and a nice clean grill. The house was clean and that is important to me. Be aware that the driveway goes straight down or up! It had begun raining awhile before we left and fortunately we had 4 wheel drive or we might not have been able to get up the steep driveway. It was a good place to stay for 2 couples.

Very steep driveway unless you have an AWD or FWD. Had to wash all pillow cases due to lipstick on some. Comforters need desperate cleaning. No dressers-had to live out of suitcases. Bath mats dirty. If you want to watch T.V. You did so in bedroom-sitting on hard dining chairs. The stream and firepit outside were great.
