Cherry Log Hideaway

The cabin was beautiful, well maintained, comfortable, and clean. The view was astounding! We had the best time and were very happy with our experience at this cabin! Super thankful! Great price for a luxurious and fun place to stay! The location is really great for easy access to and around Blue Ridge. You do hear some highway noise which was a bummer but it did not spoil our time. The dirt road up to the cabin was definitely steep and difficult. We have a FWD van and it just barely made it up (after a couple of tries and needing to reverse down the mountain) when it was loaded down with all our stuff. However, the rest of the week wasn’t too much of a problem when our van was lighter and we got enough momentum going up. Especially if you have the right vehicle, we would HIGHLY recommend this cabin!

Our stay at Cherry Log Hideaway was wonderful! Cleanliness is at the top of my priority list and this property certainly checked that box. We had everything we could possibly need. We have stayed at many mountain cabins and always seem to have hot tub issues. This one was amazing!! It worked perfectly and had the best view ever. The only complaint I could possibly have would be that we could hear road noise from the deck. However, one big plus to this location was that we were isolated but still close to main road so getting places was so easy. So for us, the road noise was a decent trade off. Finally- the need for AWD is not a suggestion- it’s a necessity. My Audi Q3 did fantastic. However, we witnessed several people not properly prepared struggling to get up the hill. I always enjoy when I can honestly say this- we would not hesitate to stay here again.

This is a fantastic location for a long weekend in the Blue Ridge region. You’re close to everything but as away as you want to be. There’s easy access to multiple hiking trails, orchards, breweries, you name it. And the view from the back porch is beautiful. The cabin itself is as described. It will easily hold four people in the two bedrooms. It was well stocked with necessities and toiletries. There are various reviews on the driveway. The listing says AWD/4WD required. I would agree that it’s definitely helpful, and if there’s any adverse weather expected I would say required. It’s not a long drive but it’s steep and the gravel washes out easily. So in good weather I think you could get up there with FWD only, but otherwise use 4WD.

Such a private and beautiful get away with amazing views of the mountains. The cabin was very clean and more well appointed than expected, along with extra supplies of necessities (laundry soap, hand soap, dishwasher tabs, coffee filters, etc.). There was nothing better than sitting on the back porch watching the sunrise other than sitting around the firepit watching the sunset.
