If you love the being on the water and great mountain views, the 3 bedroom Lady Bug Lake Lodge is just what you are looking for! This 2 story cabin was originally built in 1886 and through the years was expanded along with the addition of modern amenities to reflect the comforts of a modern home including Wi-Fi Internet.
You will sigh with pleasure as you drive up the country road and pass through Lady Bug Lake Lodges red barn gates. The majestic mountain views, the shimmering 5 acre lake, and the towering Black Walnut trees will all take your breath away!
The peaceful calm you will feel from being in this beautiful vacation home along a lake in the North Georgia mountains will replace your stress of everyday life the moment you get here. You biggest problem now is that you can't stay here forever!
If you like to fish, you better be sure to bring your fishing gear. If you like to Kayak, Canoe or Stand Up Paddle Board, you could not have picked a better place to stay as there is a beautiful dock and a sheltered dock area at the end of the yard.
Fannin Georgia is well known for being the best trout fishing in the state and if you rent Ladybug Lake Lodge, you have fishing access from this cabin and a Georgia fishing license is not required for those who are 16 or older. Anglers that are 15 years old and younger do not need a fishing license.
The second floor has a huge master bedroom suite with a walk in closet, multi jet shower, along with a sitting area that has a TV with satellite service, a DVD player and a private balcony. What a beautiful way to start and end the day by looking out across the lake in front of you out toward the mountains.
There are an additional 2 comfortable bedrooms down stairs along with a full bath, kitchen and cozy family room that features a wood burning fireplace, a TV and DVD player. Catch a glimpse of the resident deer and geese through the wall to wall windows while you are sipping a coffee in the tree trunk carved table and chairs.
The kitchen features a farm house sink, a gas stove, dishwasher and a stainless refrigerator along with other supplies. If you're in the mood to get back to the old ways, you can cook your cornbread in the cast iron skillet on the wood burning stove. Look around and you can see the quaint touches of the original 1886 home as you soak in the history of this beautiful area.
As pretty as this vacation home is on the inside, the real beauty here is the outdoors. Stroll down to the lake and the covered boat house and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. Cast a line out for our local bass or just sunbathe on the floating dock.
Get some exercise while canoeing around the lake or enjoy taking in the fresh air and beautiful rustic scenery or just lay back on a float or tube while spying pictures in the clouds. Can you imagine a better way to spend your precious down time?
For even more fun at your vacation home you can set up the badminton net or play a game of Bocce on the regulation court. You can even take some practice shots with the golf clubs provided or if the kids want, set up a tent for the kids to play in. With 17 acres of private grounds to explore, you’ll have much to do, or nothing to do at all!
Cook the fish you caught on the BBQ grill and enjoy your dinner under the covered patio on the tree slab table surrounded by Wisteria and rose bushes. After diner toast marshmallows for Smores in the fire pit and just relax the night away sitting on the porch of the old fashioned wood cabin bar, looking toward the lake and reflecting on the adventures of the day.
It’s your vacation, have fun. But don't forget to hike to the back of the lake over the hills to see the waterfall that feeds the hidden Cat Tail pond. There are also several streams and mini waterfalls and the wetlands to explore and view the local birds.
After experiencing the natural beauty of Lady Bug Lake and this wonderful vacation home, you'll leave with fond memories and hopes of returning again and again to this very special place.
To celebrate our parents 30th anniversary, we rented Ladybug Lake. Steve and Lisa Hulme (the parents) and their daughter Millie Hulme came from Overland Park, KS. Mandi Hulme traveled from Omaha, NE and Adam and Lucy Hulme came from Atlanta. Before this weekend Steve and Lisa had not been on a vacation in 11 years. We enjoyed fishing and reading on the dock during the day and then played games in Guido's Bar in the evening.our favorite activities this week included doing yoga on the dock each morning and watching our dogs Link and Savannah play. Thank you for a truly perfect place.
My husband and I loved our time here! We fished, we watched the night sky with our telescope, enjoyed the rolling hills views and the lake with our morning joes. Just loved your farm and will be back in two weeks with friends! Thanks

Thank you for the beautiful surroundings - it was the perfect backdrop for our fall trip! My husband and I have been coming to Blue Ridge for the past 9 years and the cabin sets the tone.
