One of the coolest little Downtown's you'll ever Visit!! Downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia is the perfect place to spend a quiet day. Strolling through this quaint little town you'll find so many different things!! Our beautiful Shops such as Blue Ridge Adventure Wear, Gawdy Bobbles, Blush 809, Blue Ridge Mountain Outfitters, Lavish, Posh on Main, and House of Threads offers some of the finest clothing and jewelry around. You'll find Northface, Miss Me, Patagonia, Brighton Jewelry to name a few!!! Looking for some downtown adventure?? Stop by the Scenic Railway Station and book a Train trip around the Georgia and Tennessee Mountains or try out a Fly Fishing day on the Beautiful Toccoa River with Oyster Fine Bamboo Fly Rods or Blue Ridge Fly Fishing! Take time to Dine in some of Georgia's finest restaurants such as Christie Lee's, Harvest on Main, Serenity Gardens, Southern Charm, Chesnut's, Canteberry. Don't forget to tame that sweet tooth craving with our Most Famous Sweet Shoppe of the South located in the Downtown area. They were the winners of the CupCake Wars. They now have locations in Downtown Blue Ridge, Georgia and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Three Sisters Fudge is another local favorite.
The Blue Ridge, Georgia area has many hiking and Biking Trails but there's a few that stands out to us locals. If you're looking for an inexpensive day of fun and endless beauty these hikes will give you just that!! For years we've been hiking our beautiful mountain trails but only recently did we find these amazing waterfalls. The fun doesn't stop at these 3 hikes. There's so many more and some you don't even have to hike. You can actually drive to Bald River Falls or Amicalola Falls. Or travel a bit North to Tallulah Gorge overlook and stop by Goats on the Roof for a quick Ice Cream and Souvenir shopping while actually watching, YES, You Guessed it!, Goats walk on the Roof!!!
Turtletown Falls in Turtletown, Tennessee is by far our most favorite family Hike. Here, you get a 2 for 1 experience. The Upper and Lower Falls is a easy 3 miles hike. Even the kids will love this one. Follow Turtletown Creek along this winding trail to see one of the most Breathtaking Double Falls around. The upper Falls are twin spills flowing into a swimming hole, perfect for a summer picnic or photo opt. Curve around the creek and follow to the Lower Falls where you'll find an Hour Glass Shape Waterfall spilling into the swimming hole below. Bring the kids, Bring the Dogs, Bring a Picnic!!!! This is one you'll keep coming back too every time you visit our Area.
Long Creek Falls of the Famous Aska Adventure Area in Blue Ridge, GA - As if driving out Aska Road isn't enough beauty for you, Following this quiet Path out FS RD 58 along the Noontootla Creek will simply amaze you. There's numerous small falls along the creek. The parking for the waterfall hike offers a great bridge for photos and this 1.5 mile easy hike is great for the whole family. You'll spy campers all along the hiking trail and the large rocks along the path and at the swimming hole for the falls make for very cool resting spots. When you leave this hike, you could even stop at the Famous, and newly rebuilt, Toccoa Riverside Restaurant, and have a Gourmet style lunch while marveling at the gorgeous waters of the Toccoa River.
Jack's River Falls - This is for the more adventurous hiker and you may not want to carry a kid on a backpack to this one. (We've tried it!! Not very easy!!) This 4.8 mile one way hike is well worth it but don't forget to pack a lunch and plenty of water. If you're hiking in the warmer months, definitely take a swimsuit!!! This trail begins in the Cohutta Wilderness area. It's a small path through the mountains with ups and downs that winds around to one of the most well known and fabulous waterfalls in our area.
If you've never experienced a Class 5 Rapid then you're missing out!!! The Ocoee River was home to the 1996 Olympics and is known all across the world. You can enjoy a 2 for 1 adventure by rafting the upper and lower river where you'll get the Full Olympic Experience. Don't worry though, the guides are top notch and trained to perfection. They'll make this wild trip seem like a breeze. You must be at least 12 years old for this day of fun!!! Be prepared to pick someone out of your group to ride the bull!!!! You'll also want to visit our Beautiful Rock Stacked Whitewater Center located on the river. It's a great souvenir shop or just a picturesque place to walk or bike. If someone in your party would rather sit this adventure out, there's several areas where they can stand and watch all the spills and thrills in the water!!
If you're visiting on a warmer Spring, Summer, or Early Fall day, take time to check out one of our clean and clear lakes. You can rent a Pontoon Boat or Jet ski and have some family fun exploring our beautiful waters. Want to sit on the lake and watch the Sunset among the Mountains??? Ask us where you can rent a Paddle board or Kayak and Join the Sunset group. This is so much fun and absolutely Gorgeous! You can also just rent one for the day and explore the coves on your own. This has become a most popular adventure and fun for the whole family.
One of Blue Ridge's Newest and fastest Growing adventures. Ziplining down the mountainside has become a favorite among locals and visitors. There's several Companies you can choose from throughout the county such as Blue Ridge Canopy Tours and Zipline Canopy Tours of Blue Ridge. Check with the individual company regarding the minimum and maximum weight requirements. For those of you who love a day of beautiful, picturesque scenery......plan a day just cruising around our backyard trails or scenic highways. We have a few favorites for those of you bringing your 4 wheel drives. Cashes Valley is a great ride where you can cross the river 4 times before you get to the end of the trail. Drive across the Cohutta Mountain Wilderness starting in Blue RIdge and ending in Ellijay. Here you will see some amazing long range mountain views. Don't have a 4 wheel drive and want to keep it on the pavement???? Head through Tellico Plains, Tennessee and stop at the River for a quick Burger or Ice Cream while watching kids swing from the rope into the river or ride across the Famous Cherohala Skyway or Deals Gap. These mountainous roads offers some of the most breathtaking overlooks you'll ever encounter. You could also take a trip through Hwy 129 South in Blairsville, Georgia stopping at Vogel State Park for a quick hike to a locals favorite waterfall or a short walk with the kids or pets and continue on up with Hwy following Blood Mountain to the starting point of the Appalachian Hiking trail where you'll find a very cool Northface Clothing Store perched upon the top of the mountain with a fabulous overlook of the valleys below and surrounding mountains.

A tiny little apple house back then is now one of Blue Ridge, Georgia's finest and largest and most popular Apple Orchard around. This apple orchard has people visiting from around the world to take home their famous pies. They don't just sale apples anymore!!! Strawberries, peaches, blueberries!!!!! You can even Pick Your Own and go on a Hayride. Open Year Around!!! You can stop in for Breakfast or Lunch, Grab some apples, jams, spreads, ciders, etc to go then hop on over to the Hard Cider house and try out their newest addition to the market. Buy locally from Mercier's. You won't go wrong no matter what you choose and you'll definitely be back!!! Even us locals can't get enough of this little market!!!
The Swan Drive In Theater is one of only 300 drive-ins still standing and operable in the United States. This has been a family favorite around our town for many, many years. Bring you blankets and chairs and cozy up on the Lawn or Lounge in the back of your truck. If it's colder weather you can stay warm inside your vehicle and enjoy the big screen. The Swan Drive-in provides snacks and the BEst Funnel Cakes around!!!
Tubing down the Toccoa, Fly Fishing, Swimming or simply Lounging on a Rock and Baking in the Sun. Our Rivers and Creeks have so much to offer. Some of the Best Trout Fishing Around. Blue Ridge offers guided Fishing tours. You can also pick from a few different locations for a fun day of floating down the River. Start on the Aska Location or at Horseshoe Bend.
